Methodology
How each figure is worked out
The same calculations run on every page and in the AI Analyzer. When there isn't enough data for a figure, FinX OS says so and tells you what's missing, rather than showing an estimate.

| Profit margin | Net profit ÷ revenue × 100 Not shown when revenue is zero. |
| Burn rate | Average monthly net cash outflow Only when cash is leaving. If more comes in than goes out, it reads “Not applicable”. |
| Runway | Cash available ÷ monthly burn Shown as “Positive cash flow” instead of a number when there is no burn. |
| ARR | Monthly recurring revenue × 12 Uses only income you mark as recurring. |
| Forecast | Your recent monthly averages + assumptions you set Always labelled as a projection, never as actuals. |
What FinX OS doesn't do

Not an accounting or tax system
FinX OS is built for financial analysis and planning, not statutory accounting or tax compliance. It does not currently provide GST filing, invoicing, payroll processing, or audited financial statements. You can share relevant reports with your accountant for further review.
No live bank connection yet
FinX OS does not currently connect directly to your bank account. You can enter financial data manually or upload a supported CSV file exported from your bank. Check your figures before relying on the results.

- Is FinX OS free?
- Starter is free with no card required. Pro and Premium add forecasting, analytics and the AI Analyzer.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- Only from transactions you add or import. FinX OS never shows sample figures as yours.
- Who can see my data?
- Only your account. Database rules block every other account from reading your businesses and transactions.
- Can I import my bank statement?
- Yes. Import a CSV, match the columns, preview rows and review suspected duplicates before saving.
- Is the AI Analyzer financial advice?
- No. It explains your recorded figures; it is not professional financial, tax or investment advice.
